Books and reading: Wide Reading

How to write a book review 2025

Why did you borrow this book?

What is the most interesting aspect of this book?

Were there any boring bits?

Do you think you will finish the book?

Do you think the characters sound authentic?

Were you able to predict the ending?

Were you able to make a connection between the story and other world events?

Did the story make you feel any personal connections?

Did the book remind you of any other books you have read?

Was the book easy to read or did you eed to back up and re-read some parts?

What is one question you would ask the author if you could?

What was the most surprising thing that happened in the story?

How important was the setting  to the story? Could the story have happened anywhere else?

What is the central theme or message the author is trying to convey?
